Picked up 2 paintings from the framer's tonight.

Swimming with Mermaids

Spent a little while walking around downtown Beaufort during their Water Festival...They had a great public art display of mermaids.

A Day at the Beach

...left me with a little sunburn on my knee. You can't see it good in this picture, but it's there.

Headed to the coast after work. Stayed in what was not the nicest of hotels. Musty, roachy, and a little mildewy. But I guess you get what you pay for, and the linens seemed clean enough to sleep in!-

Just unpacked my studio in my new office, and look at all the fun stuff I found...

...and a lot more! Time to get busy!

I'Ve been moved to the attic.

So we had to switch floors...this is my new office, with years of accumulation just thrown in. The organizing starts tomorrow!

First fruit!

I've never grown food before! And I didn't think my first tomato plant would survive because all the leaves turned yellow and withered up. But the fruit still seems to be growing, so I guess I'm doing something right! Apart from this baby, there are probably 8 or 9 other tomatoes that are still green and growing!

My high school's coming down!

I just saw this for the first time today... my alma mater is being torn down to be rebuilt on the property behind it.

In the back of the car on the way to Children's Theatre of Charlotte to check out their production of Go, Dog! Go! which we produced last season. I'm really psyched about seeing what a big company will do with it...it's such a great show, and I can't wait to see their new theatre! I'll post a picture when we get there.

As I expected, a fantastic show, and a totally amazing space!

A view from the wings of the final performance of CCT's The Jungle King at the FAC in Camden. Not great crowds for this production...we were competing with all things spring...which is too bad, because it was a great show!

Binaca Bird House

I was going to plant a bunch of creeping jennie in Binaca's head this year (she had a beautiful 'fro of impatiens last year), but when I went to tilt her head to clean out the leaves and such, a little brown bird flew out at my face! Turns out she's got a little nest going inside! We're going to leave it alone now, because I want the babies to have half a fighting chance. Last time we had a birdie family in one of our planters, it was attacked by a neighborhood animal during the night. I'm hoping this will be high enough off the ground to offer some protection.
